I heart Valerie Collective. I heart Valerie Collective very much… …one of these rare finds that i come across from time to time that basicaly revolves around me being blown away by the sleeve artwork and not having a clue what the music is like. Suffice to say I went with my gut on this one and picked up the record regardless. …The people involved with Valerie make everything that was cool about American disposable youth culture from the late 80s fresh and exciting again, you know what I mean…sunglasses, palm trees, outrun and all the SEGA hits from that classic era, long night drives, Miami and LA summers, the cool breeze of the summer air, Michael J Fox, Tom Cruise, Looking out from behind blinds wearing sunglasses, you get what im saying here. The perfect soundtrack to such 87 daydreaming. I leave you here with the artwork produced by a German Collective called The Zonders who are responsible for the Nades based Valerie visual identity, i am sure if you are familiar with old battered B movie VHS covers from the aforementioned era that you will see how genuinely beautiful and well thought out the artwork they create for Valerie is. Music wise, you should buy the following recordings as, they are simply breathtaking and were the solid soundtrack to my summer 2009. 1. Anoraak  -  Nightdrive with you Mini EP 2.
